I can easily say that Orthokeratology has improved my quality of life! Being an athletic person that enjoys the outdoors, my life has changed dramatically by not having to wear glasses anymore!  The OrthoK process was easy and the lenses are very comfortable. I never considered Lasik because it seemed too risky for me. On the other hand, OrthoK is totally reversible. Not being a risk taker, this made it easier for me to decide to try OrthoK. I am so happy I did! My vision is just perfect and I can play tennis, swim, and ski without worrying about glasses.
My experience at Dr. Grand’s office was outstanding. Being presbyopic, my case took a little longer to resolve. Not once did I feel rushed at Dr. Grand’s.

          I am EXTREMELY HAPPY with my Ortho-K lenses and overjoyed with obtaining the vision of my youth again. As a wearer of contact lenses and glasses since my teens, I see better now than I have in years and I am FREE of glasses and day time lenses. Ortho-K has improved my ability at work since the computer and small prints had become tedious if not impossible. The quality of my personal life has improved as I can enjoy many activities, like scuba Diving with great visual ability.        I have made many decisions throughout my life but one that has benefited me a lot is to have invested in Orthok. Before I knew about Orthok, I used to wear contact lenses. I always had problems like losing one contact, having red eyes, or being worried of "What if" I lose them when going to the beach and getting into the water. Orthok has changed my life.         When I first came to Dr. Grand's office in the late 90's my vision was virtually nonexistent. My vision was 20/600 which means even the large E on the vision chart was blurry. He informed me that we could do Ortho-K and probably get my vision to 20/100. Thank goodness I surpassed his expectations, my vision actually returned back to 20/20 with very little maintenance on retreating.        I am thankful of Ortho-K. Not requiring glasses helps me greatly with my daily task. Now I am without fear of my glasses falling off when I need to bend down or to jump around.    Or tho-K is a wonderful option especially for those involved in sports.       I have been using Ortho-K lenses for about seven years, and they have really helped making my everyday life more convenient. Although you have to set aside a few minutes to clean and take care of your lenses, it is worthwhile because you end up enjoying near perfect vision during the day. I felt much more liberated without having to adjust any pair of sunglasses or worry over how I would cope with my shaky eyesight while wearing non-prescription sunglasses. In a way, using Ortho-K lenses has made me feel as if I have returned to the good old days when I did not need any help seeing. Moreover I do not have to suffer the dryness and  the general discomfort of wearing contact lenses with my eyes open. Overall, my Ortho-K lenses have been a great help!   Irene K.

     I have been using Ortho-K contacts since 2001 and I have nothing short of a wonderful experience. I am able to have perfect vision without risky procedures for the past 10 years. Ortho-K lenses are simple to use but the results are one of a kind. I don't have to wear lenses which means I can play any sport, swim or do anything else without restrictions because I am "contacts free" during the day.       When I first started Ortho-K, I was surprised at how quickly my vision improved. Within a couple of weeks, I was able to play Water polo without worrying if I would score on the wrong side. I could also see clearly in school. Unfortunately, when I lost my contact I could not see until my new one came in because I could not wear my glasses. But when I started these new contacts for my astigmatism, I was able to see perfectly all day even after one night when I forgot to wear them. I do not see putting them on every night as a chore because I am so happy that I can see without worrying about breaking my glasses when I play outside. It is also much more comfortable than wearing contacts during the day because I cannot feel them while I am asleep.   Leanna J.

      It is really an amazing jump! At the beginning, I felt like I really wanted to give up because I had trouble handling the lenses but they do make my eyes beautiful so I decided to try. I need to tell you that this is a perfect decision. Now I feel that my eyes are new, my vision is beautiful. This feeling is super cool!       Ortho-K was a really fast and easy experience for me. After a while you get tired of having to wear glasses all the time. With Ortho-K, it only takes a few steps and BOOM! You can see! At first I was kind of hesitant but after a few nights of putting on these molds it was like nothing. The results are outstanding, just out of this world.       OrthoK allows for the flexibility and versatility that glasses do not allow. After just a week, I was able to see throughout the day when before I had trouble seeing at all. Now my vision is clear the whole day without any other aids. I remember while wearing glasses I often lost track of them and sometimes finding them only by sitting on them. This is not the case, however, with Orthok.               OrthoK helped me because my eyesight became a lot better. At first my eyesight was terrible and when I first wore the OrthoK lenses, I did not feel like it was helping much, also on top of that, the lenses felt a little weird sleeping with. After a while, I got used to them. They also help me when I play flute, since I need to see out of the sides of my eyes to see the conductor.                I think OrthoK is a great product that allows me to see during the day without having to worry about contacts or glasses or anything. OrthoK allows me to play sports or swim without having to worry about contacts falling out or getting wet in the pool. OrthoK also lets me see well in school and not have to worry about not seeing the board or something. Another thing is that OrthoK contacts are easy to put on and take out and if you drop one it is a lot  easier to find.                   Undergoing this experience has essentially changed my life and altered any prior visual limitations I had. I started the OrthoK process in the seventh grade- a time where image and self-perception is fragile and confusing. Unlike my peers, I was not able to wear regular daily soft contacts lenses; fortunately, there was another option. I will never forget the first day I returned to school after starting the OrthoK procedure, and receiving many compliments and inquiries. My friends had not heard of the procedure and were interested in learning how someone with poor vision could quickly morph into someone who possessed 20/20 vision.

      Now, as a college student, I am more than thankful that I do not have to deal with filling prescriptions, changing lens, and having to strain in class or with glasses. Reading study materials is simple as in interpreting slides on power points. OrthoK is helpful not only for an academic but vital when engaging in sports, exercise, and outdoor activities.
